Hosted VoIP PBX service lowers upfront costs for small business owners in a multitude of ways. One of the biggest differentiators is that calls are cheaper (through a Pay As You Go or metered option) or are included with an unlimited calling plan. Additionally, there is no equipment to order or maintain on-site: the VoIP service provider manages and upgrades your VoIP phone system at an off-site location, helping to save you headaches and expensive costs of a dedicated IT department or for hiring a specialist. Because of these factors, the cheapest small business VoIP phone can save you up to 70% on your business phone bill.

In recent years, the telecommunications industry has seen many changes in technology that have affected phone calls and how telephone service is sold. But the cost of your business phone service is largely dependent on the phone service provider that you choose. Below is a comparison table that lets you compare business phone service plans by monthly rates, long distance rates, set-up costs, customer rating, and features.
If you look at the comparison chart below, you’ll see that Phone.com is actually the cheapest option that includes 1 line. But, what you don’t see, is that there are more add on charges for additional features that most businesses need, where they’re included with Grasshopper making them the most affordable phone solution. Also note that most all businesses will burn through the 100 minutes that Phone.com gives you in their basic plan as well.
For many businesses, the cheapest price will always be the most important factor in choosing a business landline provider. But for others, the level of support available is critical. In general, business landline packages provide a higher level of customer support than domestic landlines. Business providers understand that breakdowns can damage revenue for businesses and seek to fix issues as quickly as possible but, as with all service providers, there are varying levels of support available.
Unlimited VoIP Service Plans A majority of VoIP service providers offer plans with unlimited calling. For businesses that depend on high-quality phone service for all of their calling needs, most VoIP service providers offer unlimited calling plans. This means that companies no longer have to worry about charges for local or long distance calling. Plus, select providers also include a set number of international minutes per month or offer reduced per-minute calling rates to select countries. When compared to traditional voice services like a Plain Old Telephone System (POTS), it's easy to see how companies can save big on their monthly communication costs by choosing to use a VoIP phone service. The benefits of choosing an unlimited VoIP service plan include: No fees for local or long-distance calling Free on-network calling regardless of location Optional local number or toll-free number selection Included call management features
Most VoIP companies can cover your needs. Full disclosure, I work for Phone.com but I also use the service and enjoy it. I use the Phone.com app on my cell phone, effectively giving me a multi-line phone. I can choose which number I use to make calls from the app and any work calls that come in are automatically forwarded to an app on my laptop and to my cell. You can set up queues and menus so when an admin answers a call you don't miss any other calls. Do a little research on VoIP providers and you'll find one that fits your needs I'm sure.
The company I work for uses a free service now and everyone works remotely. When a call comes into our 800 number it rings at all our admin phones. The problem is, while someone is on that number, no more calls can be answered. Also, when we call back to clients they can see our private cell phone numbers. since we use our personal phones. We also cannot track outbound call minutes because of private cell phone usage. We have about 100 employees but many are part time. Any suggestions for cost-effective phone service?
